My Question or Issue

The app version 1.2.46.290 is breaking the functionality to "Spotify Connect" from my phone, which is Samsung S23 Ultra, to my Linux VM where Spotify client is running foreground. I started having this issue on Ubuntu, so I was playing with Power Settings, thinking that screen lock is causing it or any other Energy Plan related stuff. I switched to Debian 12, but exactly the same issue is happening. Even if the Desktop is active and Spotify, full screen, the following is happening:

Issue:

Android client is not detecting Spotify via Spotify-Connect when Spotify is running for a few minutes on Linux.

However, if you close Spotify on Linux and reopen, you can see and connect via Android, at least initially, because after a few minutes it is not detected again.

Another behavior:

1. You fresh start Spotify on Linux

2. Connect from phone and start streaming music.

3. After 10 - 15 minutes, music is still playing, but the phone can't connect and can't control the Linux Player.

The temporary solution was to go back to ver. 1.2.37.701 via manual DEB install:
