Add to queue w/ Bose Soundtouch 10 doesn't actually do anything

Here's how I reproduce this:

1) Have a Bose Soundtouch 10 configured.

2) Open Spotify (I've tried this from the iphone and from the osx client); choose to play from the speaker mentioned in step 1.

3a) In desktop client select a song or album, click on the (...) button, hit Add to Queue. Check the queue -- the song or album just chosen isn't there.

3b) In the iOS client it's similar: choose a song or album, click on the the ... button, hit Add to Up Next, flail around wildly until you can manage to find the queue or make it start playing (from iOS I can't figure out how to see the queue without playing another track first, so I just do that but to not like it); once something is playing, you can inspect the queue and see that the music you just queued isn't there.

Whether you do step 3a or 3b, the queue will be empty.

Something else I noticed: if I tell Spotify to play through speakers/headphones, adding to the queue works, but then if I tell Spotify to switch playback to the Soundtouch, the queue is truncated.
