HELP!!!! music sounds scratchy all the time

no matter what I do, every song I play on my MacBook in Spotify sounds scratchy. the songs don't skip, but you can hear scratching/flapping sounds in the background. I just bought my premium account a few days agoa and did not have this problem until tonight. I tried putting on high streaming quality and took the gaps off, uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify, etc but nothing!!! I am very frustrated. PLEASE HELP!!! 🙂

How do songs from iTunes sound? Does this same scratching noise occur when not using spotify?
