Local Files replacing existing content

Is there a way to sync local files without linking them to existing tracks already in Spotify's library?

For example, I have Beyonce's Lemonade in my local files but it automatically linked one of the songs to a girl who did a cover of this song. Now I can't play the cover version unless I turn my local files off.
