Hello,
Does anyone know if the latest Mac client 0.8.4.107 will run on Mountain Lion? The new OS should be available tomorrow.
Thanks, Phil
works just fine!
Thanks, I appreciate the update. How do you like Mountain Lion so far?
Phil
Not as much changes as I would have liked.. notification center looks like the best feature.
Don´t own an ATV so I can´t test AirPlay mirroring.
Haven´t spent an enormous time with it yet tough 🙂
Not only does it work just fine, Mountain Lion now also allows for AirPlay of any app (including Spotify), to, for example, an (quite old) AirPort Express. This was exactly why I upgraded. Enjoying Moca – Tempomat now right from my MacBook, rather than through AirPlay on my iPod. 🙂
When using AirPlay, then for easy access be sure to enable System Preferences, Sound, "Show volume in menu bar". Next, hold down Option when clicking that icon to change the "Output Device" with one click.
But for owners of multiple AirPlay devices, it seems that Option+clicking the Volume icon only shows the last used AirPlay device. So, whenever using AirPlay Mirroring to an Apple TV, other output devices are no longer easily selected. Instead, one needs to go into the Sound Preferences to select the audio output again. (That said, Option+F10, F11 or F12 opens Sound Preferences quite easily, and then using Tab, cursor keys, Command+Q is easy too.)
(See also Can I make Option+click on the Volume icon list all AirPlay output devices? on Stack Exchange.)
It does not support Notification Center (yet?) to show what song is playing, so you'll need to keep using Growl if that was your thing.
Working great here too. Really liking how AirPlay is built into the system now.
When using a proxy, WebSockets might be troublesome in Mountain Lion.
I don't know if Spotify uses WebSockets, and a quick test reveals no problems. (Like when syncing a device, actions on the device are synced with the desktop app very fast, which might indicate it uses WebSockets. But even then: that works fine when I enable specfic proxy settings that are known to be troublesome for, for example, Safari 6.) Still then, it might be something to keep in mind when running into future issues.

Gonna borrow this thread, Does anyone else have problem with the Airplay funktion to an ATV? youtube, iTunes works well but Spotify plays for 30 sec if im lucky. Most times it will play for 1-5 sec before just returning to the built in speakers of my Macbook Pro Retina. However from my iPad and iPhone it works great. Ifg anyone got a tip to fix this it would be greate.
For me the offline tracks went away after updating. I didn't realise this until recently so I'm now resyncing my playlists which will take a long time no doubt.
I'm a little frustrated with Airplay Mirroring from my iMac with Spotify. A LOT of hiccups. Same from my iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Is it just me?
I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and now Spotify crashes instantly on startup, asking me to send a "Crash report" wich I did... like a 1000 times.
Spotify shuts down immediatly after that crash report.
I've read loads of threads about this problem... and a lot of frustrations... I tried all the "clean install procedures" but noe of them work.
The one thing I can't find is the SIMBL-folder everyone is talking about. It's not in the Application Suport -folder as described. But then again I'm thinking that won't work also.
PLEASE... I'm a paying customer of Spotify and I love the app... But can someone give the right answer to fix this thing?
Pretty please...
Bram
> I can't find is the SIMBL-folder everyone is talking about.
I think you only get that when using some additional remote software. I cannot find it on my Mac either. However, it could also be in your own user's ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/.
well... I WAS using RemotelessHelper but I read about he issues and deleted this also (the propper way)... So ok, no SIMBL-folder. But still spotify crashes at startup.
C'mon there must be a way to fix this right? I can't believe the tech-suppoort can't sole this.
Please let me know.
kind regards,
Bram
I am having the same problem, just upgraded to mountain lion, was emailing spotify and did all the procedures and it still crashes when opening up. Someone help 😞
