MacOS Spotify stopping all sound on device

My Question or Issue

I bought some wireless bluetooth Sennheiser CX SPORTS today and was very confused that when I had stopped a song from playing on Spotify, all the sound on my Mac would cease to work. This includes Chrome and some other applications. I have seen that there is a fix for Windows, but I am desperately in need of a fix for Mac. I really do hope this does not become an issue for me, otherwise it is going to be very frustrating working around it manually, and was wondering if anyone had a fix. If not, I hope spotify gets onto it soon. For now, I won't be able to use it (which is a waste of money...!)
