Playlist search filter kept after removing the search

Playlist search filter kept after removing the search

Plan: Premium

Country: Spain

Device: Macbook pro 2022

Operating System: macOS 12.6

In a Playlist (e.g. 20 songs), if you use the search filter (for an artist --> result: 3 songs) and you play this sublist (it loops the 3 songs)
so far so good.

but then, if you remove the filter (either clicking on the search's X or deleting the text), the UI updates, so you get the full list, but the player is still using the filtered search list.
Then you only have to double-click on any song of the list to make it work again.

here you can see that after removing the filter it keeps playing the same 3 songs, although the playlist has 20

Hi there @miquel_mq,

Thanks for the post.

This is how the filter currently works on Desktop, as the program assumes that you only want to listen to the filtered content. You can try the following workaround to avoid this behaviour and play other tracks after clearing the filter.

  1. Enter a search term and click on the song, so it's highlighted but don't start the playback
  2. Press [Ctrl] + [F] and use [Backspace] to erase the search term
  3. You'll jump to the position of that song in the playlist and can start listening from there

For step 2. it also works if you just clear the search with the mouse. Clicking on the X doesn't work sometimes, as far as we've tested this.

Hope this helps.
