Some Tracks Don't play Anymore

Some Tracks Don't play Anymore

Hi,

since a week or so I've noticed that some tracks don't play. The player just hangs at the begining of the track. It happens quite frequently. I'm mainly using the Mac client. This is quite annoying!

Hi JustSven,
That sounds strange.

I would suggest clearing Spotify's cache as an attempt to resolve the problem.

On Mac, your Spotify cache is located at at /Users/USERNAME/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client/Storage/

Close Spotify, then navigate to the folder mentioned above, and then delete everything inside that folder.

Alternatively, you can do it through a terminal window.

Open a terminal window (⌘+space) and then use the following command:

sudo rm -fr /Users/USERNAME/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client/Storage/*

Remember to change your username in the command to your OSX username

Hi there,

since a few days, I have the same problem. Songs play without a problem, then the next songs simply doesn't play. No error message, nothing. It just doesn't play. Only solution I found so far is to skip to the next song. Sometimes this works, sometimes you have to do it again. So, this is a bit annoying, because you can't listen to music continously without once in a while skipping...

So far I've tried:

- restarting Spotify as well as the computer (I'm on Win8) obviously

- logging out and in again

- deactivating the hardware acceleration

- manually deleting the entire cache

Nothing seems to help. Any other suggestions?

Cheers!

I have since discovered that the tracks that stop playing can no longer be found in the album they came from, which is totally weird because the album is still there.

This is definitely not the case for me. The Songs are still there. I think this only happens with streamed tracks, offline tracks are fine. So it must be something about the connection? But I don’t have connectivity problems with any other application

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but Yahoo mail junked all your replies.

Clearing the cache didn't work for me, sadly

Thanks for the suggestion anyway
