Songs Won't Play

Songs Won't Play

I downloaded Spotify onto my MacBook Pro today. For a couple of hours I was able to play my songs just fine. I was in the process of organizing my songs into playlists when my issue happened. 

 

 

When in my song library I can play a song if I click the play button at the top of all my songs. The play bar populates with the first song on my list and allows me to move between songs. However, if I want to select a song specifically from my list I am not able to play any music. Hitting the play button beside the title of the song causes the song to light up green for a split second but than the song doesn't play. The play bar down below is showing up completely blank. 

 

Interestingly enough, if I go to a playlist I made and select a song from there the song will play just fine. It onlys appears to be from my main list of songs. 

 

Help.

Hello @12182968773 & welcome to the Community!

Have you tried closing and reopening Spotify?

I'd try restarting the MacBook as well.

If this doesn't fix your problem I'd suggest to clean reinstall Spotify.

Hi there,

 

Can't say I have the same issue, however spotify tells me 'Can't play the current track.' trying to play ANY song.

I am having this issue for a quite long time, and now I am kinda upset with that behavior.

Only relaunch helps, but it is very annoying.

 

I suppose, the issue is related with bluetooth headset.

Connecting the headset, having spotify launched also disables all sounds in the system.

 

Mac OS X

10.11.2 (15C50)

p.s. unable to copy/paste spotify version from the about window.

Have you tried clean reinstalling Spotify?

To do so just follow these steps:

  1. Click Spotify in the menu bar then Quit Spotify.
  2. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isn’t visible).
  3. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  4. Click the back arrow.
  5. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.
  6. Download and install Spotify!
