Spotify app on mac - klick on Login button only opens terminal.

Hi folks.

When I click the "login" button in the Spotify app on Mac OS (Ventura) it does not open the browser page but instead opens the terminal app.

Deleted all spotify dependencies an did a fresh reinstall of the app, but still the same.

No clue how to solve the problem.

Could you let us know what happens if you instead first log in directly from the website and then open the app? Are you then logged in within the app as well or does it prompt you to click on the log in button?

What you can do is give the app a clean reinstall with the steps in this article (steps on how to clear the cache are also included) then also make sure you're running the newest version of your current browser.

Should the issue persist, try using a different browser in order to test if it makes any difference and we recommend setting it as a default browser from the settings. You can find more details here.

Hi all.
I found the issue. It was the app iTerm which popped up all the time. After deleting it everything was fine.
