Hi everyone!
Since I updated my Macbook to OS X Yosemite my spotify doesn't even start. After breefly showing the LogIn screen it shuts down. I also can't reinstall spotify, because the installer won't start. It's the same problem there.
I have a premium account and now I can only use my Spotify on my iPhone paying 9,99 Euros for it.
What can I do?
Please help me 😞
Best
Chiara

Ha! Ha! It works again ❤️
...what the problem was: by just deleting spotify (pulling it out of the launchpad so it disappears) it never really deleted spotify.
now what I did: I restarted my Mac, then started "App Cleaner", an application that I downloaded from the internet. I opened it and searched spotify. wow, there still was a lot of spotify on my computer. so now I deleted it all with the app "app cleaner". and then I deleted everything in my trash. Then I restarted my computer again. I downloaded spotify and installed it.
worked for me 🙂
Hi there,
I have the same problem. My Spotify shuts down before it even opens. The link above did not work for me. Any other idea how to solve this problem?
Thanks
whatever i do, it just does not want to work. Is there something else I can try? Otherwise i will have to quit my premium account. I don't want to pay 10 Euro for just using the webplayer (which by the way does not work very well i think).
so please help me

So, ever since I upgraded to Yosemite with my Mac, Spotify refuses to open. I've tried reinstalling it twice now. Is it just not compatible?
I'm having all the same problems as the people above. Nothing seems to fix it so that I can open Spotify.
Help!!
My spotify is the same! I hope mac or spotify find a solution soon!!!
Hey guys!
Sorry to read that you're having troubles still. Not cool at all but we'd love to help.
Just to check with you, have you tried deleting the specified folders detailed above (Application support and Cache)? For a complete reinstall, I'd certainly recommend removing these.
Let me know.
In my library ther is no com.spotify.Client folder so I can't delete it......I've tried reinstalling and emptying my trash. Doesn't work.
No, in the folder caches are only apple files and spotify fles in the application support folder either.

Yes, that's why iit says " Spotify doesn't start with Yosemite"
I've done that, temporarily fixed the issue - now it's doing exactly the same. Are Spotify looking into this? WHen can we expect a patch? I've been a premium customer, but weeks of this sort of problem means I'm likely to go elsewhere in future.
I've tried all the suggestions I could find. The only thing that works is a Beta version of Spotify.
Yes we tried ALL of that
Will try the beta version. Though I still think it sucks that you have to go to beta and can't just use the regular version
