Spotify for Mac problem

I don't know if anyone else has reported this problem before. Sometimes when I go to click Spotify in the Dock, Spotify will not open and the icon will change to a notepad and pencil, instead of the Spotify logo (image attached). I have to go to Applications, move Spotify to the trash, and re-install Spotify. This has happened to me twice before, though it does not happen frequently. What is the problem?

That icon you supplied is OSX's way of saying the .APP package doesn't have a valid icon, which leads me to believe it corrupted for some reason. 

It could happen for a million reasons, but probably not from Spotify itself. Make sure you diagnose your computer, verify there isn't anything wrong, this is definately corruption.
