Spotify is killing my MacBook

Solved!

Spotify is killing my MacBook

Recently, every time I start Spotify, my MacBook comes to a comlete stand still. No other apps respond and I keep getting that Chrome error of unresponsive pages. It literally takes me minutes just to successfully force quit Spotify. As soon as I force quit, everything goes back to normal.

What did you all do to Spotify? And don't tell me that I messed something up by installing conflicting software. I haven't installed or upgraded anything else in quite a while. Spotify use to run fine. Now I dont even dare open it.

I'm on a MacBook Pro running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

Have you tried a clean reinstall? To do that, follow the steps listed in the tutorial that I've linked. Just make sure there are no files left.

Finally got a chance to try it and yes, that seemed to do the trick.

Thanks. Much appreciated.
