My Question or Issue

I'm unable to play any content through the MacOS desktop app when I'm connected to my home wifi network with ipv6 enabled. I performed a clean install, and that didn't help.

 

I am able to stream through the MacOS desktop app when connect to another network (tethered to phone, or office wifi), or if I disable ipv6 on my Google Wifi router.

 

I am able to stream music seamlessly using the iOS app while connected to my home wifi network, regardless of ipv6 settings.

Welcome to the Community! We`re happy to see you here!

 

Not so happy to hear you`re experiencing an issue with the desktop app. This could be a doosie to figure out, but we`ll tackle it together. I see you`ve tried some options and variations to limit test the issue at hand. To further look at these lets limit test these following steps: 

 

- Update both Spotify and MacOS to their latest versions

- Try with another account

- Check if the device might be jailbroken/rooted - we can’t guarantee that the app will function as normal on devices tempered with.

- Does your device have a VPN enabled when testing the connection? Is the VPN somehow connected to the IPv6 being enabled on your router?

 

Could you show us on a screenshot if you're receiving any errors, or if it simply does not load. Seeing it visually could help us crack this, if the above options don't work.

I have this problem too.  Is there a solution?  My company uses all ipv6 now and they switched us over the weekend to that network.  Now Spotify says it has no connection.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
