My Question or Issue

I can't seem to scroll through all the chapters in a podcast. It only shows the first 10 and then I can't scroll further. This issue only seems to happen on my PC and not phone.

Hey there @NTHQ,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to confirm, is this happening with all podcasts or just a specific one? Have you already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app to see if that makes a difference?

If that doesn't do the trick, let us know the exact Spotify version you're currently running.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hi, I did a reinstall and the issue persists, however, I found a new detail. This only happens while Spotify is open on my laptop screen. If I move it to my external monitor, I can scroll through the whole list. If I move it back, the full list will also remain available. In case it helps, my laptop screen resolution is 1920x1200 and my external monitor is 3440x1400.

Hi @NTHQ,

Thanks for the reply and the extra details!

Would you mind sending over a video where we can take a better look at this behavior? You can attach it to your next response or upload it to another platform like YouTube or Google Drive and send a link to it. Make sure to hide any personal or sensitive information, and to give it the relevant permissions if you decide to upload it somewhere else.

Also, remember to let us know if it happens with different podcasts and to send us your app version.

We'll be here.

Here is the link to the video. I only recorded from my laptop's screen which shows the initial chapter list. I then moved it to a different screen and the list has been expanded. This happens to all podcasts with more than 10 chapters. My app version is Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.60.564.gcc6305cb

One more detail, moving to another screen only fixes the current playing podcast. If I play another podcast with more than 10 chapters, the list of chapters is reduced to 10 again for that new one.

Hey @NTHQ,

Thanks for the details and the video, it's very helpful!

Can you confirm if the same happens when you look at the chapter list from the web player? We can pass this info on to our teams for further investigation.

Keep us posted!

No, this doesn't happen from the web player in Chrome. Only on the desktop app.

Alright, @NTHQ!

Thanks for your reply!

There are a couple of other things we can suggest just to make sure we've covered all the basics:

  • Could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account using your laptop to see if they can replicate this behavior?
  • Have you tried downloading the app both directly from our website and the Microsoft Store to see if there's any difference?

Also, let us know your laptop's make and model, along with the make of your external monitor. The more info we have, the better.

Cheers!

I will get back to you next week about having a friend logging on my laptop.

I tried installing Spotify from both the MS store and your website and it's the same.

I have a Dell XPS 15 9520. My external monitors are MSI UWQHD and Acer ED273.
