My Question or Issue

I can login via android app on my S24 Ultra just fine and been using it for years, never had an issue there. Recently about two weeks ago, after probably over a year since using, went to use on laptop Windows App and it worked fine until I went to use it a second time and got kicked out and asked to log back in. It sent me straight to browser where regardless of if I use my username or my email (which I verified were correct through my android Spotify app settings), it comes back saying incorrect username or password. The only way to access this support forum was through the android app.

I have: reset my password (which works fine on android before and after reset), un-installed and reinstalled Spotify Windows App straight from Spotify website, deleted host files per troubleshooting suggestion on forum, and tried to login via browser on incognito mode. I also tried to log in via both Chrome and Firefox.

I've had this account for years and at one point it was connected to a Facebook account so I'm not sure if that's the issue, when I try to login with the email listed on my account I get the message saying there is no account associated with this email. I do not use Facebook and haven't for years but I'm wondering if it might still be connected to it and if it is Id like to know how to delete that connection.

Hey there @Sunaura,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you check if you perhaps have an old password for the Spotify app saved on your computer? While it's usually not stored automatically in the app, it could be saved within the browser(s).

Once you've checked this, try resetting your password again, to be on the safe side. Although it works on your phone, creating a new one will hopefully force a resync for the desktop as well. If possible, it would be great if you could try resetting the password directly from the computer.

Another thing that comes to mind is trying with another internet connection, shouldn't the above do the trick. For example, if you're currently using WiFi, you can create a temporary connection on your phone.

If the issue persist, could you let us know if you're having any troubles signing in to the account page? Are you seeing the same error there? Feel free to send a screenshot of it, just make sure it doesn't include any personal info.

Let us know how you get on!
