Spotify for Windows (64 bit)

1.2.42.290.g242057a2

Windows 10 Home

Version 10.0.19045

When I initially open my desktop app, I will click on one of my playlists, the app will 'hang' for a moment like it's going to load the playlist, but then it goes back to the homepage. It will do this several times whether I select the same playlist or different ones. Sometimes it eventually loads one (usually after 10+ tries), sometimes I have to click the playlist name for the current song playing in the upper right corner of the app. Once it load ANY playlist, the problem seems to resolve itself until I close the app and reopen it later.

I noticed this start to occur within the past week (apologies, I am uncertain if it lines up with a Spotify or Windows update).

Hey @Timberdoodles,

Thanks for creating this thread and for the provided details!

To start, would you mind sharing if you've done any troubleshooting steps so we can avoid repeating them? Have you by any chance restarted your router and tested with a different internet connection, possibly by sharing mobile data via hotspot to your desktop?

On Windows it's possible to download the app both from the MS Store and from our website so it's worth deleting the current version you're using and downloading Spotify again from the other source. In order to get rid of any leftover files that may be causing issues, you can also check out the clean reinstall article here.

If there's no difference with Spotify's behavior, please give this a try on the Web Player as well and it'd be great if you could send us a video recording so we can take a look at how things look like from your end. You can attach it via the Insert Video option in the post editor or if the attachment is too big - we'd suggest that you upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Appreciate the cooperation and hope to hear from you soon 🙂
