My Question or Issue

The songs I download from Spotify to my folder on my Windows laptop have filetype "file". They are not "wav", "mp3" or "flac".

e.g. 02ea62cae96aa6586e8c025f55af74c96d7fc6f6.file

They are not in audio playback format.

Why?

Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

Once you download content for offline listening in the Spotify app, it's not made available as direct files.

You can turn on offline mode in the Spotify app to access them.
