Hey @Sterben123321,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate the recording you've included in your post. Just to make sure we're on the same page, would you mind confirming if you have already tried to perform a clean reinstall of the app? If not, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned in this article to see if it makes any difference.

If the issue persists, would you mind activating the hardware acceleration (or vice versa) to see if the behavior persists? You can do this by clicking the 3-dot menu on the upper-left side on the screen and selecting the options Help > Troubleshooting > Enable/Disable Hardware Acceleration and Restart.

Lastly, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

Hope this helps. We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Hi Thank you for replying but yes I did uninstall and it didn't fix it so I downloaded a older version of spotify from a month ago and it fixed it so it wasn't my PC it was the new spotify update.

Seems related to this topic: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Windows-shows-multiple-audio-output-from-Spotify/td...

Latest update also totally messed up my complete audio routing and goes so far to crash dante via (a software soundcard for  audio routing over networks) to the point where i have to reboot the pc to get it back working again.

Windows 10 Pro on my end.

1.2.51.345.gcc39d911 is messed up and should be pulled from distribution asap.

1.2.48.405.gf2c48e6f works fine.

For now i have blocked any updates until this is fixed

as I thought downgrading actually helped it started cracking some songs ever since I updated to that version of spotify everything audio related has gone downhill.

same here with Windows 10, after press play there is no sound from spotify but every other sounds begin to turn louder,it just like starting from 1 to 10 and when it reached max it will reset and restart . I also found out that this only happens when i'm using USB sound card from Razer , i have tested using 3.5mm then everything gose fine.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for your messages regarding this behavior.

In order to continue investigating this further with the relevant teams, @Why_N0T_Why, would you mind including in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running?

Spotify was working for a day or 2 and then it started happening again same thing from the video i posted and im also using a razer card as well im on version : Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.51.345.gcc39d911 . I downgraded as well and its happening and its annoying.

And I just realized spotify updated by itself without even asking me there is something wrong with 1.2.51.345.gcc39d911.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the details.

Could you check if there's more than one instance of Spotify in the Volume Mixer / "App volume and device preferences" list, as in the aforementioned by @Tarakesh83 thread? It's worth checking if you able to play & listen normally on the Web Player.

Also, are you using a 32- or 64-bit version of Windows? Make sure you're running the latest updates for your OS.

Keep us posted 👍

My Issue:

When I play games and run Spotify in the background to listen to music while playing the game and every other sound source gets extremely loud eventhough the system sound volume doesnt change and the soundtracks just gets "muted" (the Spotify volume slider doesnt go down to zero tho). As soon as i pause the spotify track everything turns back to normal until I unpause it again. This makes playing with music in the background completely impossible.

I've already tried these solutions:
- I already tried to check audio drivers for updates
- I already tried to cleanly reinstall audio drivers

- I already tried to use the webplayer to see if that has the same issue

- I already tried to change different settings like e.g. standardized volume

- I already emptied the Spotify cache
- I already tried to reapair the spotify app via the system app settings
- I already tried to reset the spotify app via the system app settings
- I already tried to cleanly reinstall the spotify app

nothing has helped so far so any help would be highly appreciated

I only see one when i open Volume mixer, im using 64 bit and im already updated to the most recent update for windows 11.

i am having the same exact issue right now and your post is the ONLY post ive seen with the SAME issue. I dont understand why, but after an advertisement plays it goes back to normal.. very very strange, im having this issue the most with roblox. ive tried everything aswell and nothing has worked. BESIDES waiting for an AD and after the AD Spotify will go back to normal.

Thanks for confirming @Sterben123321 👍

Folks, could you try the following:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel, switch to the Communications tab and set "When Windows detects communications activity" to Do nothing.
  2. Head back to the Playback tab, then right-click your audio output device and select Properties. In the new window that pops up, switch to the Advanced tab and untick "Exclusive Mode" + "Enable audio enhancements".

Something else that's worth checking is if the issue occurs in Safe Mode with Networking.

Let us know how it goes.

I really dont get why my originaly stand-alone post was moved into the replies here. could someone pls explain this?

How/where do you download older versions of spotify? And how do i block updates of the app, as spotify never asks me before updating but just does so? For me nothing here has helped me aswell so I would appreciate if you can tell me how you did athe rollback

I went on the website uptodown, But the method Yordan has told me is working fine so i dont think thats necessary now.

Alright I’ll try that website then, because for me none of the solutions here worked for me and I also don’t get why my topic was moved as a reply into your topic here. Is this normal behaviour for Spotify Community?
