Everything broken on startup / Spotify starts to autoplay and won't take inputs

Everything broken on startup / Spotify starts to autoplay and won't take inputs

I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro recently, because I started to have issues with my 5 year old install. Basically everything works fine now, but not this.

5~ days ago I did yet another a clean install of Spotify (deleted everything from %appdata% and C: drive), after which the problem seemed to go away for a few days. But it started again, happened yesterday and today morning. Also on startup, also seemed like it auto-skipped like 30 songs in a matter of seconds to the one that was last played.

Now today after I did yet another clean install on the same boot the issue happened, again it didn't help at all. I can search for lists or songs, but I can't click on any of them to start playing.

Also this seems to get stuck on top of it all.

Still the same install of Spotify I did from the Microsoft Store. But now after a reboot, everything works fine.

One thing to note:

when I was searching for anything in the Windows search bar. Any time I right clicked on anything (for example to uninstall Spotify, the menu only flashed for a split second and then closed) So, is this a Spotify or a Windows problem?

Hey @Fonxy,

Thanks for reaching out and kudos for the troubleshooting you've tried so far.

We haven't heard any similar reports so this is most likely a device issue. Since you've mentioned reinstalling Windows, we'd suggest making sure that all drivers are up-to-date (especially the audio ones). You can try using a free 3rd party driver downloader that does this for you.

Let us know how it goes.
