I bought this new computer and I am running on windows 8, and it tels me to download Adobe flash to use spotify when I already have it.
I tried downloading it, and the Adobe flash doesn't allow me to download it because it says its already installed.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
Try downloading and installing the Spotify client from this link (the full installer package). Be sure to download it using a full browser and not the Metro version of Internet Explorer. Once its installed, just double click the icon on your desktop and you should be good to go!

OK, so I just found out how tosolve the issue for Chromebook, you open spotify, and when it prompts the get flash, its free, **bleep**! go to the url, where you can type in whereever you want to go and go to the right next to the favorites star, there should be a little pole looking piece, click it and it will ask you if you want to continue blocking, click no, and spotify will work again.
For chromebook: just type in chrome://plugins/ and go to adobe flash player click "always allowed to run". Mine is working now 🙂

I had the same problem as the person you replied to. It appears there are plenty of other folk suffering as well.
If Spotify is so touchy about the flavour of Flash it wants to see, why on earth doesn't the "Get Flash" link on your web page point STRAIGHT to the one that (presumably) works instead of the one on the Adobe website?
And how come your "Flash " is somehow different to Adobe's? I thought Adobe owned Flash. Have you pirated and hacked their software? After all, Microsoft warn us over and over again not to use untrusted software; your flashplayer.exe seems somehow not to be the one I would expect from (trusted) Adobe.
You can see the problem, perhaps.
Since when was flash required for the desktop application? I'm pretty sure the guy's having an issue with the web player.
this doesn't work for Chrome OS
I did it but it still says I have to install adobe flash, I have a Chromebook.
I tried to reply, but your website / my browser spat back something about authentication having failed.
Now I can't recover the 10 minutes worth of typing I did, asking why the choice of browser had anything to do with it.
So I'm gone. Spotify, I am sure, will get on just fine without me.
I have a chromebook as well and am receiving the 'Get Flash' problem. The link above is meant for a windows system. Is there a way for someone with a Chromebook to solve this problem?
