My Question or Issue

I used to always click on the "Search" button and go into the "New Releases" section and just scroll through to find cool new stuff. At some point in the past couple months, that has apparently been replaced with "Hand-picked new releases".

Why? Instead of having a list of every (major) new release that I can continuously scroll through as far back as I want, there is now an extremely short list of a few albums from this week only.

Not everything needs to be some curated list. Just let me look at every new release and please stop removing useful features. Is there any way to get the old feature back?

Hi there @blyan,

Thanks for your post here in the Community and welcome!

The New Releases playlist is a Personalized mix. This means the playlist is updated weekly containing up to 65 music tracks recently released from artists you follow and recommendations based on listening habits.

However, we have another feature called What's New feed. Maybe that's the option you're looking for. This feed contains all the new releases from artists and shows, and it contains releases up to 60 days old. To get to the What's New feed tap Home and then tap the bell icon at the top of the screen.

Nevertheless, thank you for the feedback; we appreciate it. We always aim to improve, so we’ll get this passed on to the right team.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Susan,

Both of these are curated feeds based on what I like/follow. I just want to be able to access ALL new releases again like I was able to before. I've discovered hundreds of new artists/albums this way and it was much easier than listening to stuff that Spotify thinks I'll like based on what I already listen to. That is not a very good way to branch out into new styles or genres. I appreciate you passing this on to the team (assuming that is actually being done), as this was a great feature whose removal I do not understand. The last thing Spotify users need is even more auto-curated content.

I also miss being able to see what is new, just one big list of what is new.  This version of feeding me me what I already eat is boring.

This is actually ridiculous. I thought I just couldn't find it, but the New Releases queue is really gone? How is this a "service," then? How are people with minds of their own supposed to discover music? I don't need an algorithm -- I need a music service.
