Home page doesn't load/unable to use search

My Question or Issue

For the past week my Spotify desktop app home page has not been loading.

It constantly pops up with an error message saying "something went wrong. search for something else?".

This also happens when I try to search for an artist or song.

I tried using the web version of spotify, but that outright doesn't load at all. 

The only access I have is to my liked songs and saved playlist. Updating or reinstalling spotify doesn't fix it. Is this a problem with my internet or router?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd suggest cleaning your host files by following the steps in this article. If this behavior persists after that, keep in mind it's possible to download the app from both the Microsoft Store and our Web page here. So, in this case, if you install the desktop app from the web page, try to uninstall that version and try installing the one from the Microsoft one or vice versa.

On another note, if your computer can be connected to WiFi, you can create a hotspot with a mobile phone and connect your PC to it to check if this behavior is perhaps related to your internet connection. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, you might need to check for any local settings on your device that could be blocking the app. In case there's any antivirus software or such that could be restricting access to the app, try whitelisting Spotify.

My Question or Issue

My spotify works normaly on my IPhone XR, but on my computer its different when I start up (as a desktop app) spotify it won't let me play any song when I search it up in the search bar and my playlists won't load. When I try to use the spotify web app it tells me: 

Něco se pokazilo.

Zkus stránku načíst znovu.

which means: Something went wrong. Try to reload the page.

I've tried nearly everything uninstalling, reinstalling deleting appdatas, trying the microsoft store version, etc.. but nothing helped.
