I am trying to reinstall Spotify but receive error 17

I have been unable to use Spotify for a while now and decided to try installing again from the website. However I receive and error 17 prompt when I try to install the app.

I have tried launching the installer in compatibility mode but still receive the same error, and installing earlier versions has the same result

Thanks for posting in the Community.

What is the OS you try to install the app on? If it is Windows, could you try obtaining the app from the Microsoft Store and not from the Spotify site?
 

Could you also post a screenshot of the error message?

Does the web player work?

I have now 'fixed' the issue by installing in safe mode
