No audio after trying to swap listening device, even after reinstall.

No audio after trying to swap listening device, even after reinstall.

Listening on mobile with bluetooth headset.  Walked to my PC, and tried the Spotify Connect button to swap to PC audio.  It appeared to do so, but no sound at all.  All other apps work except Spotify.  I rebooted, reinstalled Spotify, etc... and still no audio, even though it says "Current device - This computer".  Spotify doesn't even show up in the volume mixer.

Hi there @gpia7r,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please let us know the following:

  • Does the volume work as expected when you start the playback directly on the PC?
  • Does it happen when starting the playback from the phone via Connect but without a bluetooth headset?
  • Could you please make a video of the behaviour? If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

Found a fix.

Right click the audio icon in system tray.  Go to Open Sound Settings

Click "App volume and device preferences"

Spotify had changed it's output to some obscure non-device, instead of "Default".

Switched it to default, things were fine.

It would be nice if you could modify Spotify's device and output settings **within Spotify**
