Playlist sometimes plays out of order even though shuffle is not enabled

Playlist sometimes plays out of order even though shuffle is not enabled

I have hit this issue several times-- If I am on my mobile device (iOS) and playing songs with shuffle enabled, occasionally the shuffle setting seems to bleed over to my desktop app. I will start a playlist (by clicking on the first song, not the "play random" icon). Normally this will play the songs in playlist order, but sometimes it randomizes the order even though the shuffle indicator in the desktop app is grey/no dot underneath. If I pause playback, toggle the shuffle on and off, and restart playing it seems to play in order after that. I'm wondering if there is some cross-pollination of the shuffle setting in the online settings and it's not synchronizing with the desktop app indicator? Spotify for Windows

Thanks for sharing your issue with the Community!

The playback order should definitely not be random if the Shuffle icon is grey, so there might be something out of order here...

In case you can replicate the issue at will, could you send us a link to a video recording of the behaviour, shown on the the desktop app?
If it happens only sometimes, we could start with some troubleshooting instead 🙂

You can try clearing your cached data on all devices to see if that makes a difference.

Sorry, I never saw any notifications of responses to my query so I didn't know to provide that info.

FWIW, the problem eventually went away and I haven't seen in for more than a year, so something got fixed along the way.
