My Question or Issue

According to this link and some other Help/FAQ posts I found through searching, I should be able to paste a Spotify URI into the search bar and get the resource I'm trying to find, but this does not work. The other Help/FAQ posts are years old and for different platforms, and I wasn't able to find a post or page explicitly stating this feature has been removed. Is it still possible to search by URI in the Windows 10 Desktop client?

Hey @_brown,

Thanks for reaching out!

If you paste an URI in the search field and press Enter, the content location should open and you should be able to play it afterwards. For example - spotify:track:4NiyMmBdlVHpZWScgdBvnt - once you press Enter you should see this:

In the Web Player, it should open the song directly and look like this:

https://open.spotify.com/track/4NiyMmBdlVHpZWScgdBvnt

If this doesn't work, it'd be great if you can send over a couple of screenshots of what's happening on your end. You can also share the URIs you're testing this with, so that we can check them out as well.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi @Dessi,

My apologies for the late reply. I was under the assumption I could just type it into the search bar and it would show up in the search results. I did not realise I had to actually press enter for it to work, but it is indeed working - mistake on my end.

Thank you for the response!
