Sound stops, have to end task or crashes PC

My Question or Issue

Since last night (no software or hardware changes) a song will stop midway no sound at all, shows the song as still playing, changing song does not fix. Have to Ctrl alt delete and end the spotify.exe otherwise if i leave it , it starts building up its CPU usage to the point it freezes the whole PC? Have done a fresh install, checked my sound drivers for updates no joy. Running out of ideas? Please help. 🙂 Thanks
