For about a week now, the Spotify App on specifically just one Windows 11 machine of mine has been slow, but only if Offline Mode is turned off. All my other devices handle spotify fine, and this machine was doing great for a while but now it isn't.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling spotify, restarting my pc, clearing spotify cache, disabling hardware acceleration, pretty much anything that I could think could have to do with the slowdown.
Spotify is the only app that is being slow, every game and other apps I have on my PC work just fine, and if I enable Offline Mode on Spotify it works like a charm.
My internet is well past fast enough, getting around 500Mbps up/down.

Hey there @NatetheNut,
Thanks for your reply.
You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one? Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store.
On another note, we'd recommend clearing up your hosts file by following these steps.
If the issue persists, could you let us know how much available storage space does your PC have?
Keep us posted.
Hey @NatetheNut,
Thanks for reaching out and kudos for the troubleshooting you've done so far.
As a next step, please share your exact app version and check if the same happens in the web player or when using a different account.
Keep us posted.
Spotify Version:
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.22.982.g794acc0a
This was happening only on the app, regardless of the account. The web player works fine.
However, I recently updated my graphics card driver and the problem seems to have gone away. I'll keep using it to see if the problem comes back, but it might have just been a driver incompatibility with the UI.
Thanks for the reply!
Hey @NatetheNut,
Thanks for sharing the info.
Fingers crossed! Let us know if this happens again with the new driver.
Take care,
The issue still happens, although not as often. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is. It seems to happen most often when I just let Spotify play for a while and then I try to manually change songs/pause the current song.
I am not sure as to why Offline Mode doesn't have this issue, but it must have something to do with how Spotify is connecting to the servers. I have Spotify set to be allowed through my Windows Firewall, so I know this isn't what is causing the issue.

This seems to have worked. I had previously performed the clean install, but this time I also went ahead and deleted all my temp files, as well as removing those lines from the hosts file. Thanks!
