Stop the sync between devices

Stop the sync between devices

I'm still new to Spotify so I may not have the right terms here.  When I play music on the Windows Desktop app, it sort of syncs with my phone and tablet so that whatever playlist I'm on, the devices are on that playlist too.

Is there a way to disable this sync?  I want my phone on a different playlist that I enjoy in the car and I don't want my listening on the desktop (where I expore new music most of the time) to interfere with that.

Thanks

Hello @Vanterax,

Welcome to Spotify Community!

It's possible, but you have to set Spotify on your mobile device offline.

To do so, first, you have to be Premium user and download the content you want to use.

You can do that by checking the Download button in a playlist w5wCAKn.

After that navigate to "Your music" -> Settings ( gear icon at the top left) and check "Offline mode".

Hey @Vanterax! Welcome to the Spotify Community.^^

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the sync between different devices.

But you can create playlist folders:

This should help you to organize your music.

Let us know if that helps, thanks! ^^
Peace

It's funny.  One says it's possible and the other says it's not. 🙂

The offline mode isn't working for me so I never bothered.  The app keeps saying that it needs to be online (a different problem).
