What's this button in fullscreen mode that doesn't seem to do anything?

There's this button on fullscreen mode right next to the volume controls that doesn't appear to do anything, I've searched the FAQ but found nothing. Can anyway help me identify what this is supposed to do? See pic.

I'm on Windows desktop version and whenever I click on this button that showed up a few days ago, nothing happens.

It looks like you've spotted a test by Spotify. Sometimes, the developers test new features or additions to the UI. It's possible that this button will be given a function or removed in one of the upcoming app updates.

I have same button. It does nothing.

I wish it could deliver some beverages to the laptop when clicked, just my thoughts.

There's a button in the fullscreen mode that I haven't seen before and can't find any info about. It doesn't seem to do anything except go from on to off. Any idea what it is?

In the image, I am referring to the second icon from the right.

I have the same thing and am hoping that it is a PiP mode or miniplayer thats going to be added soon. Thats what the icon looks like to me.

I have that button as well. I'm a bit confused as to why Spotify wouldn't test things in a separate build, but I'm interested to see what it will be. I'm hoping for something like Lofi Miniplayer.

When I click on the full screen button on Spotify, there appears to be a button that presumably looks like a miniplayer button. But when I click on it, nothing seems to happen.
