Why are the close and minimize buttons oversized in Spotify for Windows 11?

Solved!

Why are the close and minimize buttons oversized in Spotify for Windows 11?

This issue began after a recent layout update that removed the search bar from the navigation bar. The oversized buttons now intrude into the main screen, affecting the usability and overall interface experience.

I was able to solve the problem by installing the latest version of Spotify using the WinGet tool in PowerShell:

> winget show Spotify.Spotify --versions
Found Spotify [Spotify.Spotify]
Version
---------------------
1.2.48.405.gf2c48e6f
1.2.48.404.g4bec9359
(...)

> winget install Spotify.Spotify --version 1.2.48.405.gf2c48e6f

I also have the same issue but for me the notificatons/friends/profile icons are also hidden behind the close/minimize buttons. I am using spotify on full zoom out(ctrl -) on even if i resize the window etc.

I have the exact same problem. For me, it's like the old style UI - where the Search and Home buttons are back to the left panel. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and also cleared the cache. I also tried logging out and back in again several times, but it doesn't make any difference.

Could be a problem at Spotify's end?

This is incredibly annoying. This once great app has sadly turned into something I absolutely hate using.

Anyone recently updated windows?

Seems like windows handles the scaling in a wrong matter.

Back to normal for me. Didn't do anything.

I also had this. Was able to fix it by going to Help > Troubleshooting > 'Reset App Data and Restart'. After reloading Spotify the windows control buttons were correct.

Troubleshooting > 'Reset App Data and Restart'.

this works for me, though it seems they resize the UI design, the top bar is so large looks like for touch not for click, zoom out one or 2 times seems better, 4 times match before, but with smaller font
