why cant i expand the album cover in the bottom left corner?

i cant expand the album cover in the bottom left corner anymore - instead when i click expand it opens up the "now playing" section. i dont want to see it in the now playing section i want to see the album cover in the bottom left corner. is there a way to get rid of the now playing section or a way to be able to expand the album cover in the bottom corner?

Thank you for posting in the Community!

This sounds strange and I can't replicate this on the desktop app on my end. I can suggest you to log out and then to log back in, in the app twice in a row, as this triggers a refresh between the app and your account and may help to resolve any possible cache-related issues. See if this brings thing to normal.

If the above doesn't help, then please come back with a screenshot, or even better, a short video of the situation on your end, so we can take a look and advise you better. You can send a link to it or attach it using the Insert Video option in the post editor.  Let us also know your OS version and also your exact Spotify version on the desktop, as this will be very useful for an eventual investigation.

I have the same problem and the solution u suggest isn't working. This seems to be a common problem as I've seen several threads about it. I thought it was a an intended (and very annoying) new "feature" of the new UI changes that has been pushed on to us. If this isn't intended then it's a bug and I would be very happy if it could be fixed asap. I really want the cover art to be large as my eye sight is pretty bad.
