Would be great to have a "shazam" capability built into spotify.

would save having to run shazam, do detection, then go into spotify, find the name of the song, and then finally play it

Open Spotify, click a button and it detects the music that is playing in the background or the radio or whatever you are listening to and adds it to a playlist.

Both Soundcloud and Shazam Encore has an option to open tracks within Spotify after you scan / tag them. 

I believe that Soundhound compatibility with Spotify may only be available in Europe at the moment.

this would be a huge help so I don't have to tag/listen to the same song over and over from the radio or whatever.

I have been wanting this feature since I first purchased Spotify!! Because I will Shazam a song that I like while in a store or driving and can not immediately go to Spotify and search for it, so then I end up just forgetting about it. As a result I'm not listening to the new music that I would like to be.

To build on this - what about a "absorb music" mode? Switch it on while the radio is playing or while you're at a party or whatever, and it samples the current playing song every minute or two, and adds them to a playlist for you (songs you don't already have listed somewhere).

This would be really useful when I'm listening to the radio in the car, or listening to a friend's music (in the car, at their place, etc)
