Pitch to Spotify: Introducing TrackMatch

Spotify’s mission is all about connecting listeners to the music they love, but what if we took music discovery to the next level? Enter TrackMatch—a fun, swipe-based feature that adds a social and interactive layer to playlist curation.

Here’s how it works:

1. Social Song Suggestions: Listeners receive song recommendations from their friends or globally connected users. These are tracks that others have chosen to share.

2. Teaser Playback: The track starts with an intro or selected section chosen by the sender, designed to spark curiosity. If the listener isn’t hooked, they can skip straight to the “main part” of the song—the sender gets to define what they think is the song’s highlight.

3. Swipe-Style Interaction: Listeners decide:

Like it: Add the song to their playlist and save it for later.

Pass on it: Swipe away and move to the next track suggestion.

4. Discovery Loop: Listeners keep interacting, building their playlists while creating a gamified, Tinder-style discovery experience.

Why It Works

Personalized Discovery: By letting friends or global users share tracks, music discovery becomes more personal and curated.

Engagement Boost: The interactive format keeps users swiping, listening, and discovering new music for longer periods.

Fun, Not a Game: While it feels playful, it’s still a tool for discovering music rather than a traditional “game,” staying true to Spotify’s core focus.

Virality Potential: Friends sharing their favorite tracks creates a natural incentive to engage with the platform, sparking more conversations and social sharing.

TrackMatch isn’t just a feature—it’s a way to bring social interaction and music discovery together in a unique and engaging experience.
