Do playlist shared from old unused accounts expire?

Some time ago, my brother sent a link to a playlist he had put together for me. Of course, I saved it, and occasionally would go back to it and enjoy new additions he had made.

A few months ago, however, my brother suddenly passed away. Sadly, one of the many awful things his wife then had to do was cancel his Spotify subscription. 

I would still occasionally go back to the playlist he made for me, but about a week ago I noticed it was gone entirely.

My question is this;

Because his account is no longer in use, I assume it would at some point be subject to deletion.

Would then all of his compiled and shared playlist also be deleted? If so, would there be anyway to recover what was shared?
