Share songs inspired by ancient civilizations

Do you enjoy listening to any songs that are named after, or are otherwise inspired by, ancient civilizations? If so, feel free to share!

Here are some songs from my Spotify library to start:

The first ancient civilization, the Sumerians, developed around 4000 BCE in southern Mesopotamia, a historical region in western Asia for which this song by Congulus is titled. The name “Mesopotamia” comes from a Greek word meaning “between the rivers,” referring to the land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers where this region was situated, which had fertile soil and a supply of water for irrigation.

According to their Spotify bio, Wyatt E.’s music is “the soundtrack of a pilgrimage to the Neo-Babylonian empire.” “Mušhuššu,” my favorite song of theirs, is titled after a creature from ancient Mesopotamian mythology, perhaps most famous for appearing on Ishtar Gate in the city of Babylon during the sixth century BCE.

This track by Vircator comes from an album where each song is named after an ancient civilization (except for “Aztec”—not sure why it’s on the album before “A.D.”). My favorite song from this release, “Egypt,” likely refers to the ancient Egyptian civilization, which was unified around 3100 BCE. Similarly to Mesopotamia, civilizations in ancient Egypt were dependent on fertile soil and irrigation from a river—the Nile—which also provided a way to transport materials.

Finally, these two songs from my Spotify library are named after emperors from ancient Rome, nearer to the end of ancient history: “Caligula” (emperor from 12 – 41 CE) and “Constantine” (emperor from 306 - 337 CE).
