Can't see my friends playlists

I can't see any of my friend's playlists even though he has them set to public, he also tried to share a the playlist with me and said that it wouldn't let him. There isn't even a playlists tab on his profile

Have your friend tried reinstalling his app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.
