Connect to a device not working

This seems to be an only recent issue because I did not have this problem when I was a premium member 3 months ago. 

The issue is that I'll have music playing on one device, hooked up to a stereo and use another either android device or Mac to control it. However lately when I have started another song it has started paying on the device used as a controller and I haven't been able to reconnect without getting up and doing it on the other device. 

Very annoying as I use this feature to be lazey and on top of it you cannot control the other devices volume anymore! One of the major drawcards over apple music and it's not working.
