My Question or Issue

At least once a day my daylist is full of songs from a playlist I only listen to while studying. I've tried the following things to stop this: Excluded the study playlist from my taste profile, deleted the whole playlist, hidden every song on the playlist, clicked "don't play this artist" for every artist on the playlist, logged out of all my devices, logged out and in probably 5 times, included the playlist in my taste profile again, excluded it again and logged out several times more. Uninstalled the app and done a clean install twice. All this has achieved is that now the daylist is just full of hidden songs and can't play anything. I waited several days to see if it improved, but nothing. I've made sure there are no other playlists with these songs, I've even excluded the mixes with these songs even though I've never listened to them. Why would the daylist even use songs I've hidden and artists I've said not to play?

This is extremely infuriating, it basically makes my daylist unlistenable at least once a day, sometimes several times. What else can I do?

Hey there @robinmron,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We really appreciate the time you took to let us know about this and we'd like to add some insights here.

Keep in mind these playlists (e. g. Daily Mixes, Daylist) are created by Spotify based on your recent listening activity. If most of the music you listen to comes from those personalized playlists, the new suggested content won't update as often and be as accurate. These playlists update regularly, so please give them some breaks, explore some new music, and check in the coming weeks how it goes.

Additionally, we suggest you make sure the Private Session is on when listening to the aforementioned studying playlist. Then, when exploring new content, make sure Private Session is off, so the algorithm can gather enough info about your most recent listening activity. Also, make sure you're listening to music not only from other recommended playlists like Discover Weekly or Daily Mix, but through the Search option as well.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

I have not listened to these songs in two months as it is summer and I only listen to them while studying. I mostly listen to my other playlists and have only recently started listening to daylists.

I will be using private sessions in the future, but it's already taken two months and the daylists are still messed up because of study music. It seems you are saying there is no way to fix this. I hope Spotify takes some action to change this soon. It really sucks that there is no way to stop certain music from constantly ruining daylists.

Issue still continues. It's gotten to the point that I've clicked "don't play this artist" on every lofi artist spotify keeps recommending, so now I get these empty playlists. I have not listened to lofi since 16th of May. How much longer will this keep happening?
