Why are artists that I haven't listened to yet showing up on my favorite artists section?

Hey there, thanks for asking in the community! Before we move ahead, can you share a screenshot of what you are exactly referring to?

Hi,

Yes, see attached. These two artists among others I have rarely if not
never listened to. So much so that I don't even remember if I've even
listened to these two in particular. However, they're in my favorites
list. I find it odd. Some artists that I listen to on a daily basis on
repeat don't make the list at all. It doesn't make sense, how is the
algorithm deciding favorites?

Thanks for the reply but I am unable to see the screenshot. Please make sure it is there or you can just copy paste it in the reply if not attaching.

If you're talking about the homepage favorite artists section (recommendations) then I can assure you it's nothing to worry about. Sometimes Spotify might think that if you've played new artist then you like them. But these suggestions are updated frequently to match your preference. So, rest assured they'll be updated soon. It also happens sometimes with Albums, Playlists, etc.
