How my SONOS system came on in my office in the middle of the night?

My SONOS system came on in my office in the middle of the night, at maximum volume, even though no-one was connected to the system's WiFi network.
I suspect one of my colleagues stayed logged on to his Spotify account when he left, and when he tried to listen to music at home on Saturday night, his Spotify account started playing on the Sonos system, 200 km away?
How is this possible (not the same Wifi network), and how to solve it?
I now have a ticket from the police and complaints from 4 neighbours.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

This might be happening if his Spotify account is still linked to the speaker in the Sonos app from his side. In order to fix this, we recommend a factory reset of the Sonos speaker, as this should remove any previous connections to the speaker. You can find the steps on how to do it on this page.
