My Question or Issue

I'm trying to create a campaign on spotify for artists and I'm trying to input my ABN which is active and it keeps saying that my ABN is invalid. How do i fix this. Thank you.

Because it isn't clear what is causing this error, it would be a good idea to reach out directly to the Artists team here.

The good news: I know why you are having the problem - It's because you aren't registered for GST. Even though you have a legitimate ABN, Spotify doesn't recognise it as valid for their tax purposes. 

The bad news: the Spotify UI won't allow you to back out from using your ABN - you can't leave the field blank as you've specified you have a valid ABN (which you do, just not in Spotify's eyes) and you can't run any campaigns until the issue is resolved. Good luck a) explaining it to Spotify for Artists support and b) having the issue resolved. After an hour or so on the chat and going through a couple of level 1 support people my issue was escalated to level 2 - I'm still waiting for a response / resolution from level 2...

The ugly news: Don't under any circumstances test out your theory by grabbing a random ABN that is registered for GST and add that. It does get accepted but you can't edit it once it's locked in (the same as the Billing country which is greyed out and can't be modified). FML.
