Local Files won't sync to my phone

Local Files won't sync to my phone

Hi, I have a MacBook Air and an iPhone 5s and my local files won't sync to my phone from my computer. I have student premium.

I have tried disabling the firewall, uninstalling and reinstalling on both the phone and computer, creating a new playlist with only those files and downloading it to offline, and being on the same wifi. Nothing has worked so far. On my phone I keep getting a notification that says "Song not downloaded" and then it tells me to get on the same wifi network and sync.

If anyone has an answer I will be really grateful.

Hey @depersonalized.

We first suggest that you do a quick reinstall for a fresh start and to ensure that you have the latest Spotify version. This means that you'll have to re-download any music you've saved for offline use.

After that, check out this help article for our most common criteria for using local files on Spotify.

If that doesn't work, try putting the file in another folder and use that folder as a source for local files from your app's settings. Rename the files if necessary to something that only contains letters and spacing, without any special characters.

Try using mobile hotspot to connect the devices to the same network. If there are too many local files, try with just a few, create another test playlist.

Let us know how that goes! 🙂
