Podcast Playback

Recently on Desktop, I have been having issues with playing any podcast that I follow. I click play, but if I was in the middle of an episode, it will no longer let me skip to where I was. If I click on the 15sec skip button, it jumps back to the beginning. If I try and click to about half way through, it jumps to the beginning. Is there anything that can be done to fix this, or am I missing something?

In this case, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this issue. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

If the above doesn’t do the trick, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you’re running there?

On another note, just to clarify, did you notice this happens no matter which podcast you choose to play? Or does it happen when playing some specific episode of a show? If yes, send us the link to it.

Lastly, just to confirm, does this also happen on the web player? If not sure, give it a try and let us know how it goes.
