Just Recently I unknowingly downloaded a fake spotify app that was actually a trojan virus. There was virtually no difference in the apps, it would be very helpful if you would add a unique yet discreet feature that signifies that the app is actually yours and not a fake. Thank you from a loyal Spotify member.

I recommend always downloading the Spotify desktop app from https://spotify.com/download - If the site doesn't contain "spotify.com", it's probably not an official site by Spotify.

I typed in the address myself for Spotify to download it and still got the
virus so I am beginning to believe it has nothing to do with a fake website
and is in fact something else.

Spotify doesn't contain any viruses and your data is safe. 🙂
