What's New page lists releases from artists I don't follow

Lately I've been encountering What's New (bell icon) notifications from artists (or anything) I don't follow (usually from India or somesuch). Blocking the artists and/or hiding songs on mobile does nothing. I would think premium accounts would not get promoted content forced upon them, or no?

Plan: Premium
Country: Slovenia
Device: Desktop & Mobile
OS: Windows 10 - Vivaldi browser / Android 10 - Spotify app

Hey @Mortarah,

Welcome to the Community!

It's worth mentioning that the What’s New feed contains new releases from artists and shows that you follow. The feed may also include content recommendations received in push notifications.

If you're seeing unknown artists, we recommend unfollowing them and then logging out of your account everywhere just to make sure no on else is using it on another device (maybe someone in the family on a shared device). You can do that via the Account Page here and if you'd like, you can also reset your password

You can also log out > log back in twice in a row to re-sync your account and the device you're using.

If there's no difference, could you click on these artists via the What's New feed to check if it appears that you're following them or not? If you could also send us a video recording so we can also have a look, that'd be great. You can attach it to your next response via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon 🙂
