Hey @exmann,
Sorry to see this has been happening!
A few factors could be at play here, so we'll need to dig a little deeper into this 🙂
Does this only occur with a LAN internet connection and only with the Spotify app?
Does the app only go silent or does the music pause and un-pause on its own?
We'd also like to know if you're using a desktop PC, a laptop or a Mac and what the installed OS version is.
Lastly - let us know what your Spotify app version is (located under Help -> About Spotify).
Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout for you reply 🙌🏼
Hey @exmann,
Thanks for your detailed reply.
Is it possible to connect your laptop to the modem via cable to see if it shows the same behavior as the desktop? If it does, this could indicate some issues with your modem's settings and in this case, it's best to reach out to your ISP for some more troubleshooting.
Also, to make sure we understood you correctly - this happens only when playing through the speakers, right? If yes, try disconnecting your Spotify account in the Google Home app and reconnecting it again.
Let us know how it goes.
Connecting my laptop through an wire to the modem, makes NO diverence.
No, it also happens when playing on my Phone, but I only use this sometimes.
Deleting all my speakers and staring over with a Fresh installatie, have tried that also, it makes no difference.
Sorry I have a hard nut to crack, but have't found a solution jet.
Eddy..
Hey @exmann,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
To make sure we covered all the basics, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.
Also and if possible, could you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout.
Thanks for the info @exmann.
If you've got the Family plan and all of you in the family share the same speaker devices, this may be what's causing the issue. Keep in mind that you can play music from one Spotify account on one device and not on multiple devices at the same time.
It's also worth mentioning that if each user has their own Google Home device, everyone needs to have their own Google account linked to their own Spotify account, which is subsequently linked to their own Google Home device through the Google Home app.
I recommend taking a look at this help article.
Hope this info helps clear things up and keep us posted 🙂
Thanks for the quick response @exmann.
If you've ruled out the possibility of accidentally using the same Spotify account, then there's something else you can try so we can better determine where the issue is coming from.
By having a look at the steps here, you can start with adjusting the audio quality settings to low when streaming music.
After that you can take it a step further with downloading some tracks and setting Spotify to offline mode.
If these don't make any difference with the behavior and the same issue persists with the playback, let us know so we can continue troubleshooting together. This may be a network issue.
We'll be on the lookout!
