Windows Phone 8.1 app stops playing

There seems to be an odd bug in the WP8.1 app (ver. 5.1).

From time to time the app will stop playing sound but will still look like it is playing. Going back into the app and pausing and restarting does nothing. Neither does choosing a different playlist/album/radio etc.

The only fixes seem to be to log out and then back in, play audio with a different media player and then restart Spotify or soft reset of the phone.

I cannot pin down what the cause is but it does seem to happen if the WiFi connection cuts off. It has also happened when the phone lost connection with the Bluetooth speakers.

I use some other music apps and have never experienced the same problem with them.
