playlist filter search not working

My Question or Issue

When entering a playlist I've curated, and typing an artist in the Filter search bar at the top, this pulls up all related results for that artist.

However, when clicking on a song, Spotify plays the corresponding song in that place on the whole playlist. For example, if the fifth song in my playlist is by the Beatles, when I search for 'Kanye', all Kanye songs will remain, but selecting the fifth song of his, will actually play the Beatles song. Same if I press shuffle, it will shuffle all songs, not the filtered selections.

Have uninstalled and 'force stopped' to no avail, and has been a problem for 2 weeks now.
